What Makes Our Zanzibar
Tours Different

Handpicked Accommodation
We select every lodge, boutique hotel and beach resort personally. From a historic merchant's house in Stone Town to barefoot-luxury tented villas on the north coast. Comfort and character, never cookie-cutter.
Local Swahili Guides
Every Haven Trails Zanzibar tour is led by a local Swahili guide with deep roots on the island. Not a generalist. They open doors, share stories and create access that no guidebook or app can replicate.
Private Transport Throughout
Air-conditioned private vehicle for all transfers and excursions. We never place you in shared shuttle vans or group taxis. Your schedule, your pace, your flexibility. Guaranteed from arrival to departure.
Authentic Culinary Experiences
From spice farm lunches and Forodhani market street food to private Swahili cooking classes and fresh-catch dhow dinners. Every itinerary weaves in genuine food culture, not just restaurant recommendations.
Ocean-First Planning
We schedule water activities around tides and seasonal conditions, not convenience. Snorkel Mnemba at peak visibility, time your sandbank walk to low tide, and arrive at Kizimkazi when dolphins are most active.
Seamless Tanzania Combos
Pair any Zanzibar package with a northern circuit safari, Kilimanjaro climb or Serengeti migration trip. We handle every detail of the transition. Flights, transfers, permits and pacing. So you just travel.

Voices from the Spice Island

"The 6-day itinerary was perfectly balanced. Stone Town blew our minds and then Nungwi gave us three days of absolute bliss. We've travelled extensively and this was one of the best-organised trips we've ever done."

Zanzibar Tour
Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a Zanzibar package with Haven Trails Adventures.

All packages include private 4WD transfers, accommodation for the listed nights, a dedicated local guide, all guided excursions, and breakfast daily. Lunches and dinners are included on excursion days. International flights, travel insurance, and personal spending money are not included. A full inclusions breakdown is on each tour page.

Most guests fly directly into Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) from Dar es Salaam (30 min), Arusha (1 hr), or Kilimanjaro (1 hr) on Precision Air, Air Tanzania, or Coastal Aviation. We can arrange all domestic flights as an add-on, and arrange your airport welcome and transfer the moment you land.

Absolutely. This is one of our most popular combinations. A classic itinerary is a 6-8 day northern safari followed by 4-6 days in Zanzibar. The safari gives you the savannah wildlife experience; Zanzibar is where you decompress on the beach. We handle all flights, logistics and pacing between the two elements seamlessly.

We recommend the 5-Day Classic for first-time visitors. It strikes the ideal balance between Stone Town, a spice tour, beach time and water activities without overwhelming your schedule. If you have more time, the 6-Day Full Island is our most complete introductory experience, covering every main region of the island.

Zanzibar is considered very safe for tourists. It has one of the lowest crime rates in East Africa. As with any destination, basic precautions apply: keep valuables secure in Stone Town, use reputable operators for water activities and follow your guide's advice. Haven Trails guides are with you for every excursion day and your accommodation is carefully vetted.

Zanzibar is part of Tanzania, so standard Tanzania visa rules apply. Most nationalities can obtain a Tanzania e-visa online in advance, or a visa on arrival at Zanzibar International Airport. We send all clients a pre-departure briefing with visa requirements specific to your passport. Always double-check with your country's embassy before travel.
