Haven Trails Adventures is a fully licensed Tanzanian tour operator specialising in tailor-made safaris, Kilimanjaro expeditions, Zanzibar escapes, and cultural immersions across East Africa.

Founded in Moshi in the shadow of Africa's highest peak, Haven Trails was built on a conviction that remains, to this day, our operational foundation: no two journeys should ever be the same. Every itinerary we design is built from scratch. Around you, your dates, your interests, your rhythm, your budget. And executed with the same obsessive attention to detail whether you are two people or twenty.

Over a decade, we have collaborated with Tanzania's finest lodges, most deeply experienced rangers, and most knowledgeable naturalists to create programmes that go far beyond game drives and summit attempts. We design immersive encounters with the living, breathing Africa: its wildlife, its landscapes, its people, and the extraordinary science that holds it all together.

We receive daily intelligence from our guide network on herd locations, predator activity and water availability across every park we operate in. Every Haven Trails safari uses a dedicated private 4×4 Land Cruiser with 360° pop-up roof, USB charging, a cooler box and your personal guide. You are never combined with other travellers. Your vehicle, your guide, your pace. Every single day of your programme.

Eco-Conscious Operations

Reusable water filtration in all safari vehicles. Zero single-use plastic in client provisions since 2022. Lodge partners evaluated on ecological practice. Born in Moshi, Stephen has summited Kilimanjaro over 200 times across all seven routes. KINAPA-certified, Wilderness First Responder qualified and the vision behind Haven Trails since its founding in 2014. His approach to guiding. Patient, deeply knowledgeable and genuinely joyful. Sets the standard for everything we do.

Operations Manager

Norah

Eight years coordinating Northern and Southern circuit safaris. Norah ensures every game drive, lodge transfer, bush breakfast, and migration intercept runs exactly as planned. She knows every camp manager, ranger station chief, and airstrip controller by name. Her network is Haven Trails' operational backbone.

Johnson

A certified naturalist and ornithologist with 15 years in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Johnson can identify over 400 bird species by call alone and has tracked the same lion prides across Seronera for a decade. His ability to read animal behaviour. Predicting a hunt before it begins. Responsibility

Tourism That Gives Back

If the communities around Tanzania's parks do not benefit from the tourism those parks generate, conservation becomes impossible to sustain. Our responsibility programme is not a marketing chapter. It is the way we operate, every day, in every park.

Community Education Fund

2% of all programme revenue funds teacher salaries, school materials and infrastructure at three schools in the Kilimanjaro buffer zone. Communities whose relationship with the national park directly determines its long-term security.

Ranger Training & Equipment

We sponsor annual equipment upgrades and training courses for anti-poaching ranger units operating in conservation areas adjacent to the parks we work in. Including the Kilimanjaro Buffer Zone and the Serengeti periphery.

Reforestation Kilimanjaro Slopes

In partnership with a Moshi-based NGO, we fund annual reforestation events on the degraded lower slopes of Kilimanjaro. Restoring the montane forest buffer that regulates the mountain's water catchment and the communities that depend on it.

Plastic-Free Operations Since 2022
