Guide gratuities are not included in your package price. This is standard across the entire East African safari industry. Our recommended tip for a full-day guide-driver is $15-25 USD per person per day and for camp staff, a communal pool of $5-10 per person per day is appreciated. Tipping is always voluntary and at your discretion.

Depending on your location, you either return to your lodge for a hot lunch or enjoy a packed bush lunch at a designated picnic site in the park. The midday hours are quieter for wildlife as animals retreat to shade, making this an ideal time to rest, recharge cameras and share the morning's photographs.
Afternoon Game Drive Begins
The heat of the day is breaking. Animals emerge from shade to drink and graze. Predators begin their patrols. Herbivore herds gather at waterholes, creating remarkable concentrations of wildlife and the social dynamics that go with them. The afternoon light is rich and warm. A classic African safari tradition: your guide finds a scenic viewpoint and you pause the drive to watch the sun descend over the savanna with a drink in hand.
