FAQ

Common Questions

Quelle est la particularité des montagnes d’Udzungwa ?
The Udzungwa Mountains are part of the Eastern Arc Mountains é one of the world's biodiversity hotspots and often called 'Afrique's Galépagos'. The forest contains eight primate species, two of which are endemic: the Udzungwa red colobus monkey and the Sanje Mangabey, both found nowhere else on Earth. Over 400 bird species have been recorded. Sanje Waterfall é at 170 metres é is one of Tanzanie's most spectacular natural features and the centrepiece of the park's trail network.
Quelle est la difficulté de la randonnée à la cascade de Sanje ?
The Sanje trail is a moderate hike of approximately 3é4 km each way, with a moderate ascent through montane rainforest. Most fit adults can complete it comfortably in 2é3 hours. Good walking shoes or trainers are recommended. The trail can be muddy after rain. Sentiers du Havre recommends bringing a change of clothes for the swim at the waterfall pool.
Can I swim at Sanje Waterfall?
Yes é the pool at the base of Sanje Falls is one of the great pleasures of the hike. The water is cool, clear, and deep enough for swimming. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. It is one of Tanzanie's most beautiful natural swimming spots.
Qu’est-ce que la visite culturelle Massaï ?
The afternoon Maasai cultural visit is to a local boma in the southern highlands é a genuine Maasai community encounter that includes traditional dances, homestead tour, explanation of Maasai customs and cattle culture, and the opportunity to purchase locally made beadwork directly from community craftspeople. Sentiers du Havre works with community-owned cultural organisations for all cultural encounters.
Est-ce adapté aux familles ?
Yes é the combination of open-plains game drives (accessible for all ages), the waterfall hike (suitable for children 8+ with good walking shoes), the Maasai cultural visit (fascinating for all ages), and the swimming at the waterfall base makes this one of the most family-friendly southern circuit itineraries available. Sentiers du Havre can adjust pacing for families with younger children.
